Hi! I'm Natasha!
Pronouns: She/Her
I'm a southern girl raised in the suburbs who likes Arnold Palmers, fried foods, stand-up comedy, and live music. Oh, and handbags. And funky colored eye glasses. And bees.

I enjoy supporting first-time therapy clients and am an advocate for the BIPOC community. As a woman of color, I am passionate about removing the stigma related to mental health which has kept communities of color from accessing help for far too long. I am also trained to support members of the faith community and provide Faith-Based counseling upon request. I am a certified Christian counselor, but I am happy and comfortable working with clients from all or no faith backgrounds.
Why I love being a Counselor
I truly believe being a therapist is a privilege and an honor. I also believe I was called to be a helper. My first day of college, a woman I'd never met sat down next to me, told me her life story, and begin crying. That moment confirmed what I have always felt: part of my life's purpose is to create and hold safe space for fellow humans.

I have 17 years of experience working children, teens, and adults. Currently, I work with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, and adjustment disorder as a result of life transitions or relationship changes. I especially enjoy supporting parents, collaborating with clients to come up with stress management plans, and working with young adults navigating life's challenges. My therapeutic mantra is, "Life be Life-ing". We all need a little help some times. I'm happy to be a trained helper.

I am a certified church usher (it's really a thing). I have approximately 43 cardigan sweaters. I unashamedly love the color pink and green next to it is especially fabulous (IYKYK). I really like soup all year long. I also really like and love my husband, son and daughter. I love a good self-help or inspirational book (yes, I read about therapy outside of my work as a therapist). I also love historical fiction and non-fiction. I'm especially interested in the Civil Rights Movement and the 1800's.

Education and Credentials
Education
I graduated from The University of Tennessee, Knoxville with a BA in Psychology and George Mason University with a Master of Education (M.Ed.) in Counseling and Human Development. My concentration in graduate school was school counseling, but I went back in 2013 to receive a certificate in community agency counseling, did ANOTHER internship and four year residency (whew) and am now a licensed professional counselor and psychotherapist.
Training
I am currently enrolled in classes to become a certified Dialetical Behavior Therapy counselor. DBT is an evidenced based treatment modality which has been found to be successful with clients dealing with Bipolar Disorder, emotional dysregulation (anger management), stress, and communication issues. If you're interested in receiving strategies and solutions as opposed to talking alone, I'd love the opportunity to work with you!
