Hi! I'm Mary!
Pronouns: She/Her
Hi, I am so glad you are choosing to work on yourself! I find that the therapeutic relationship can be like taking on a project together. I aim to create a space where my clients feel safe and want to dive in together to work on themselves.

I love to exercise and be outdoors. I am also a bilingual English Spanish speaker.
Why I'm a Social Worker
I was drawn to the profession of social work because of the emphasis on affecting change on both individual and societal level. I have worked with adults and children from all backgrounds in many different settings from schools to a domestic violence shelter to a health clinic and hospitals. When I work with clients, I see myself as a listener, advocate, educator and student.

I love when clients say, "I never thought of it that way", because they have realized that there can be multiple perspectives - that maybe their fixed view is not the absolute truth. To hear a client say that they tried a new strategy or used a new tool and it helped them makes me feel excited for them.

I find brain reserach fascinating and like to share those facts with clients, to help us understand that a lot of our funtionining is biologically based.
