Hi! I'm Kelly!
Pronouns: She/Her
I'm so glad you're here. I believe that therapy is a journey and adventure to self-discovery. The path isn't linear and change takes dedication, commitment, and time. Our therapy sessions will sometimes feel directive and focused, but some days we will meander through your thoughts and feelings. Either way, every session is a chance to learn more about you and where you want to go.
Sappy stuff aside, I'm a massive nerd, I love mental health through memes, and sci-fi in all forms. We communicate in so many different ways, and I think therapy should be interactive, engaged, and sometimes, we have to just be people.
Why I'm a Social Worker
I am a Social Worker for a lot of reasons, but I think the number one reason is because social work looks at the person as a whole "system." You are more than a mental health concern, and mental health concerns aren't just in your head. I like to look at you as a complex human being who has to function across settings and the work we can do will help you feel empowered to be YOU. I will say to anyone that I have the best job in the world because I get to like you unconditionally and be "professionally curious."

Social Work also has an emphasis on Social Justice, and helps us see that social justice can be accomplished on the interpersonal level or at the national policy level. In my practice as a social worker, I work to remove gate keeping within the mental health field by accepting insurance to make mental health as accessible as possible. I work with Transgender clients to feel empowered on their journey and provide Gender Affirming Letter writing services for both Hormone Replacement Therapy and Surgical interventions. I will write these letters for free if you don't have insurance or a way to pay. Mental Health providers should not have to be gatekeepers for your health, empowerment, or self-actualization.
